Abhinandan Nabera

Abhinandan Nabera is a PhD candidate in the Sustainable Process Systems Engineering Lab at ETH Zürich, supervised by Prof. Gonzalo Guillén Gosálbez. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemical and Bioengineering from ETH Zürich, where his Master's thesis focused on evaluating sustainable ammonia production pathways.

His current research focuses on the transition towards sustainable production pathways in the chemical industry, with an emphasis on carbon dioxide capture and utilization (CCU) and the electrification of chemical processes, such as water electrolysis for hydrogen production. By integrating existing fossil fuel technologies with emerging low-carbon routes, he aims to facilitate the shift towards a more sustainable chemical sector. He employs process modelling, along with techno-economic and life cycle assessments, to evaluate current and future low-carbon chemical production technologies across different global regions.
