Cecilia Salah

Research area

Currently pursuing a PhD in the Sustainable Process Systems Engineering Lab at ETH Zurich, Cecilia is working under the guidance of Prof. Gonzalo Guillén Gosálbez. Her research focuses on exploring the economic and environmental potential of thermo-chemical recycling technologies for plastics, with the goal of advancing a sustainable transition toward a more circular economy.

Alongside research, Cecilia has also served as a teaching assistant for the courses "Process Simulation and Flowsheeting" and "Case Studies in Process Engineering". Additionally, she provides guidance to students on topics such as chemical recycling of plastics, process simulation, and life cycle assessment. She has a strong interest in sustainable process and systems design, the sustainable transition of the chemical industry, and the promotion of a circular economy for plastics.
