Additional information

With expertise in Sustainable Process Systems Engineering, Juan Diego Medrano is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the SUPERLab at ETH Zürich, working under the supervision of Prof. Gonzalo Guillén-Gosálbez. He completed a PhD at University of Alicante, Spain, where his thesis addressed sustainability trade-offs of industrial carbon dioxide utilization in the synthesis of chemicals. Juan Diego's current research contributes to the group’s efforts on net zero pathways for the chemical industry, particularly focusing on the economic and environmental performance of novel synthesis routes for chemicals and fuels.

Juan Diego's broader interests include green chemistry, sector coupling and industrial symbiosis, and recent work involves collaborations with Universitat Ramon Llull (Spain), Uppsala University (Sweeden), University of Amsterdam and Leiden University (the Netherlands), among others. He is also involved in teaching activities within the department and contributes to interdisciplinary projects.
